DOGVERTISEMENT
THE IDEA

We use dogs to get your attention. Then we use that attention to help dogs.

While dogs wait for homes in overcrowded shelters, vacant storefronts and other usable spaces sit empty. Dogvertisement asks: what if we brought those two problems together to create an opportunity?

PHASE ONE · RIGHT NOW

A year in New York City

Our twin dogs are where it begins. During Year One, we’re exploring New York City, documenting the connections they create, gathering public input, and finding the people and spaces that could make a pilot possible.

PHASE TWO · WHAT'S NEXT

Vacant storefronts

We want to turn unused spaces into temporary, supervised places where adoptable dogs can be seen and meet people. A vacant window becomes a reason to stop. An empty shop becomes a place to make a connection. Someone who wasn’t planning to visit a shelter might meet the dog they never knew they were looking for. The goal is to create a pressure-release valve for overcrowded shelters: another route into foster and adoptive homes, helping make room for the next dog who needs care. Working alongside shelters and rescues, we’d bring dogs into the everyday paths of people who might help them.

Two dogs open the conversation. Together, we could open doors for many more.
